Memorial Day 2026

Remembering Those Who Gave Everything

A day of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude for the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy.

There are some days that ask us to slow down.

Memorial Day is one of them.

For many families, this weekend may mean time together, food on the grill, a cup of coffee in the morning, a day off from work, or a quiet moment outside enjoying the freedoms we sometimes take for granted.

But behind those freedoms are names. Faces. Families. Empty chairs. Stories that ended too soon.

Memorial Day is not just another holiday. It is a day to remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to this country.

They gave their lives so others could live free. They gave up every tomorrow so the rest of us could have ours.

As a veteran, this day carries a weight that is hard to explain.

You remember that freedom is not an abstract idea. It is not just a word printed on a sign or spoken in a speech. Freedom has been paid for by real people. Young people. Brave people. People who had dreams, families, jokes, fears, and plans for the future.

Some never came home.

And today, we honor them.

At Sabrosito, we are a small family business. We talk a lot about coffee, hard work, family, and building something honest one step at a time.

But none of that exists without the country that gave us the opportunity to try.

The chance to work, build, speak freely, worship freely, gather with family, open a small business, and chase a dream, those things were protected by people who stood in harm’s way.

So today, before the coffee is poured, before the day gets busy, before life pulls us in every direction, we pause.

We remember the fallen.

We remember their families.

We remember that the comforts we enjoy came at a cost.

And we do our best to live in a way that honors that sacrifice with gratitude, with humility, with respect, and with a commitment to not take this life for granted.

From my family to yours.
May this Memorial Day be a day of remembrance, reflection, and quiet gratitude.

To those who gave everything:

We remember you.

We honor you.

And we thank you.

With respect,
